CandyKing is a Swedish brand which started out in 1984 - the year of Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Band Aid & Ghostbusters. Famous for its pick & mix range you’ve likely seen CandyKing at the cinema, motorway services or on the high street.

Pick & mix certainly makes kids smile and if you’re over a certain age then it’ll remind you of journeys home from school via Woolies.

With over 70 products in the mix there’s everything from fizzy bubblegum bottles to milk chocolate eggs. Oh, and not forgetting those long fruity snakey things.

And who doesn’t love a jelly bean - most people it would seem, as 122 million of them are sold each year. CandyKing have created a thriving business by giving your sense of taste more choice than you can shake a stick at.

But why stop at taste - what about your sense of smell… introducing candles by CandyKing.

Innovative brands undergo continual change; new products, new packaging design and new kinds of promotion. Brand extensions are simply another strand of innovation. As brand extensions go, confectionary to candles may not be an obvious one. Yet CandyKing’s modern, colourful, light hearted, variety based offering lends itself well to candles.

We designed the product & the packaging to perfectly reflect the CandyKing brand offering. The scents of the candles reflect the myriad flavours of CandyKing confectionary. This is brought to life in the product design with the layered coloured waxes. The packaging design makes a clear link with some of CandyKing’s best loved candies whilst the windowed variety packs evoke the pick & mix theme.
